Mother Mary! These Parking Prices are Expensive!

I went to a tragic funeral for a 14 year-old son of a person I know recently. Seeing a funeral like that is very tragic. But seeing the prices the hospital charged for parking was even more tragic. It was the 여의도성모병원 (Yeouido St. Mary Hospital), and you would think a religious institution that is visited by the sick or the grieving would lay off the parking prices, but we were there almost exactly 1.5 hours and paid 5,000원 for it. Nothing switches your mood from sad to mad as fast as a kick in the balls like that. Even a very affluent person I know who attended the funeral found a parking spot outside the next time we went to visit the funeral room. I seriously want to find the 원장 and give him a swift kick in the balls.

As long as I'm talking about parking, Seoul will never, ever be a pleasent city to live in until they start enforcing whatever measly parking laws they have. This means they need to force building constructors and owners to here. ensure they have enough parking, and then tow cars parked along the side of the road. You can automatically reduce any road in Korea by one lane on each side, plus maybe 2 in some areas because of people parking along the side. That is half the cause of the 24/7 traffic
